Quick Lesson lets Teachers share a lesson document with Students using a QR code or link, without needing a full school-wide Goodnotes Education setup. It is designed for Teachers who have Goodnotes installed via Apple's Volume Purchase Program (VPP) and want to get started with collaborative lessons straight away.
Please note: Quick Lesson is available on iOS only. Both Teachers and Students need a Goodnotes Account to use Quick Lesson.

For Teachers
Creating a Quick Lesson
You can convert any existing document into a Quick Lesson. This creates a new copy of the document — your original document is not changed.
From your library
- Long-press the document you want to use as a lesson.
- Select Convert to Quick Lesson from the actions menu.
- Confirm when prompted. A new lesson document is created with the same content.
From inside a document
- Open the document you want to use.
- Select the More Menu and choose Export and Share.
- Select Convert to Quick Lesson.
- Confirm when prompted. A new lesson document is created with the same content.
Please note: Your Quick Lesson documents are stored in Goodnotes Cloud and appear in a separate Teaching tab in your library, keeping them separate from your private documents.
Sharing a Quick Lesson with Students
Once your Quick Lesson is created, you can share it with Students using a QR code or a link.
- Open the Quick Lesson document.
- Select the More Menu and choose Export and Share.
- Select QR Code to display a scannable code, or Copy Link to share a join link directly.
- Students scan the QR code or open the link to join the lesson.
Tip: A QR code is automatically added to the first page of your Quick Lesson document, so Students can always scan directly from the document if you display it on screen.

Troubleshooting
I cannot move a Quick Lesson document to trash
If you see an error when trying to delete a Quick Lesson document, wait a moment and try again. Quick Lesson documents sync via Goodnotes Cloud, and the document may not have finished syncing. If the problem continues, contact Goodnotes support and include your Diagnostic Data (found at Settings > About > Export Diagnostic Data).
