How to use Class Folders

Class Folders are the Goodnotes way of organising materials between your different classes. Class Folders will be visible in your institution's section of your homepage. All documents shared in Class folders are automatically turned into Lessons and shared with all students in that class.

How to create Class Folders

Create Class Folders in the Library View

  1. Select New Class Folder or alternatively, select Create Class Folder if this is your first Class FolderIMG_0019.jpg
  2. In the New Class Folder popup, you can set a Name, Color and add the Students you want to add (You can add Students at a later time if you don't want to do this now!)IMG_0020.jpg
  3. Press Create Class Folder to confirm the Class Folder

Creating Sub Folders

You can create subfolders within your Class Folder. This is useful if you need to keep the same group of Students together for multiple semesters or lesson topics. 

To create a Sub Folder: 

  1. Enter a Class Folder 
  2. Tap the + Icon
  3. In the pop up menu, tap Folder instead of Lesson

Change a Class Folder's Name and Color

You can alter the Name and Color of a Class Folder after you have craeted it.

  1. Head to the School Tab in the Sidebar 
  2. On the list of Class Folders in the main window, tap the down arrow next to the Class Folder's name 
  3. Here you can edit its Name and Color.
