This banner can occur for multiple reasons; the most common reason being that your License Key, which is used to provision the app for your users through MDM, has expired.
If you are using Goodnotes Education with Admin Console
If you are using the Admin Console, then your licenses are deployed on a user account basis, so you will not need an MDM-based managed app config that deploys a License Key.
You will only see this message if you did not remove the License Key config when moving over from Goodnotes License Key deployment to Goodnotes Admin Console deployment.
To resolve this:
- Head to your Managed App Config page for Goodnotes in your MDM, see here for a refresher of how you implemented the License Key if it has been a while!
- Remove any License Key or custom app config from your profile and update to all devices in your user group.
- The banner should disappear, users may be asked to log in again which they should be able to do using their existing credentials as deployed through the Admin Console.
I am having trouble setting up the Admin Console!
If you are having difficulty inviting users and getting set up with the Admin Console, please see the following articles:
If you are using Goodnotes Education Without Admin Console
If you are not using the Admin Console and you are using a License Key through Managed App Config in your MDM, then this issue may actually need resolving on our side!
We recommend that you contact us with the following information for quick support:
- Your school name
- Your License Key
- A copy of Diagnostic Data from an affected device. To do this, please open the Goodnotes menu in the library view > View Profile > Account Settings > Export Diagnostic Data.
- Your required full seat count in case we need to increase this for you.
