Once you have created a Class Folder, it's time to invite some students! Students must have the Goodnotes app set up on their devices.
- Inside your Class Folder, tap on the Students tab to see the students menu for this Class Folder.
- Tap on the blue Invite Students button to see the different options for adding students to your class.
Invite Students from the list
You can add Students from your institution's existing Student list if they already have a Goodnotes Account associated with your school through the Goodnotes Admin Console. Contact your Admin if you do not see any Students here.
- Tap on Add Students
- Select the students you wish to add to the class
- Then press Add Student(s) to add them to the class
Once you have added your first Students, you will see the Add Student button move to the upper right-hand side of the Class Folder view.
Note: Students need to first be logged into the app before they appear in the Student List. Please ensure that they are logged in ahead of time.
Invite students using a QR code or Link
If your students do not appear in the Student list, you can still add them by using the QR code and link for them to scan.
- In the same popup as the Student List, you will see a QR code and options to Copy Join Link and Share QR Code.
- Students can scan the QR code directly from their Camera app and join your Class Folder
- You can send a link if you prefer or share the QR code directly in a messaging service as an image.
Note: Scanning the QR Code or launching the link will launch Goodnotes. If a Student is not logged in, the app will prompt them to log in using a Goodnotes Account that is covered by your Institution. Please make sure they use their correct school login details to successfully join.
