Throughout the school year, you may need to add or remove students from your Class. Goodnotes Education is designed with flexibility in mind to make this process hassle-free for you.
Adding and Removing Students from the Student List
If all your Students have been added to the Goodnotes Organization aleady by your IT Admin, then they will appear in the Student List. You can use the Student List to manage your Class Folders audience.
- Start in your Class Folder by pressing on the Students tab.
- Press the Add & Remove button at the top of your Student grid
- In the popup window, select or unselect students to remove or add them to the class, then press Confirm Changes
All Students who are selected will now have access to all the Lessons in the Class Folder. Any Student you have removed will lose access to their Lessons.
Adding Students to a Class Folder if they are not on the list
Add them via Goodnotes Account
If your Student has not yet signed in with a Goodnotes Account and joined the school Organization, they may need to do this first in order for them to appear in the list.
Please contact your school's IT Admin and ask them to invite the Student via email so that they can be added to your Goodnotes Organization.
Join with QR Code
Some schools may have set up the ability to join with a QR Code. Students scanning this code, which you can generate from your Share menu in your Lesson, will add them to your Class Folder and, if set up to do so, will add them to the Goodnotes Organization for your School.
- Launch a Lesson in the Class Folder you want your Student to join
- Head to the Share Menu in the top right
- Tap Join with QR Code
- Ask your Student to scan the QR code with their camera app and launch the link, which should take them directly into Goodnotes
- Your Student will then need to log in with your School or Institutions' login method (Apple, Microsoft, Google or SSO)
- They will then be added to your Lesson and Class Folder
Please note that this method will only add a Student to your Class Folder unless your IT Admin has enabled Join Organization with QR Code in their Admin Console.
