This article covers features available on Goodnotes Education with Admin Console. Schools on Goodnotes Education without Admin Console may not have access to these functionalities. To upgrade, contact your Goodnotes account representative.
With multi-org access, you can manage multiple schools from a single Admin Console account and switch between organisations using the dropdown in the console header. This article covers two paths depending on where you're starting from.
Important: Use your admin account for administration only. Do not use it for teaching or learning activities.
If You're Setting Up from Scratch
Follow these steps to activate your first school and then add additional schools to the same account.
Step 1: Activate Your Admin Console
- Go to edu-admin.goodnotes.com/login.
- Log in with your school email address.
- Enter the referral code provided in your setup email.
Your first school is now active and you have access to the Admin Console.
Step 2: Add Another School
- Click the school name dropdown at the top of the Admin Console.
- Select Create a new school.
- Enter the referral code for the additional school.
Repeat Step 2 for each school you want to add.
Please note: Each school requires its own referral code. Contact your Goodnotes account representative if you need a code for an additional school.
If You Already Have an Admin Console
If you have an existing Admin Console and want to give a team member access to manage multiple schools, assign them the Owner role. Once accepted, they can add additional schools to their account.
- Open the Admin Console and go to User Management.
- Invite the person if they're not yet in the system, or locate them in the member list.
- Set their role to Owner or Admin.
Please note: Invitation emails can take up to 30 minutes to arrive. Ask the recipient to check their spam folder if they don't see it.
Once the invitation is accepted, the new Owner or Admin can add additional schools to their admin account using the steps in the section above.
Switching Between Schools
Once you have access to multiple schools, use the school name dropdown at the top of the Admin Console to switch between them. A brief animation confirms the switch.
Please note: The Goodnotes app currently shows only your first-joined school. Switching between organisations is available in the Admin Console only. Full app support for multi-org switching is planned for a future release.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I Need a New Account for Each School?
No. Multi-org access works with your existing account. Any Owner or Admin who is a member of two or more schools can manage all of them from a single login with no additional accounts required.
What Happens If My Role Changes?
If your role in a school changes from Owner or Admin to Teacher or Student, you will lose Admin Console access for that school. Your access to any other schools you manage is not affected.
Can I Delete a School?
You can only delete a school if you are the last remaining user in it. Contact Goodnotes support before attempting to remove an organisation.
