My Activation Code Isn't Working

If you received an activation code to set up your school organization but it's not working, this guide will help you troubleshoot the issue.

 

Understanding Activation Codes

 

Activation codes (also called referral codes) are used by school administrators to initially create and activate their school organization in Goodnotes Education. These are different from the email invitations used to add Teachers and Students after your organization is set up.

 

My Activation Code Shows an Error

If you're receiving an error message when trying to use your activation code:

  1. Double-check the code format - Ensure you've entered it exactly as provided, with no extra spaces
  2. Verify your account - Make sure you're signed into Goodnotes with the correct email address
  3. Contact Support immediately - Our Support Team can work with our Sales Team to investigate the issue or generate a new code if needed

When contacting Support, please provide:

  • Your school name and domain
  • The activation code you received
  • Screenshots of any error messages
  • Your diagnostic data from Goodnotes

 

I Didn't Receive an Activation Code

 

If you signed up for Goodnotes Education but never received an activation code, your school membership may have already been activated by our Sales Team. Try signing into the Admin Console at https://edu-admin.goodnotes.com/ to check if your organization is already set up.

If you still can't access your organization, contact Support here: Contact Support 

Please let us know: 

  • School name and domain
  • Your activation code (if you have one)
  • Description of the issue
  • Diagnostic data from Goodnotes, if available. To get this, please open the Goodnotes menu in the library view > View Profile > Account Settings > Export Diagnostic Data.
