Migrating from Goodnotes Classroom to Goodnotes

Everything you love about Goodnotes Classroom is now available directly inside the main Goodnotes app. You can keep all your notes streamlined in one all-in-one space for school and personal use.

When do I need to migrate?

You still have time before we deprecate the Goodnotes Classroom app, so you can choose the most convenient time to move over. Please note we will no longer be deploying new features or improvements to the Goodnotes Classroom app.

Please note: Manual Backup will not backup any files in Class Folders, which is why in the steps we ask you to Multi Select all the documents that you would like to export as .goodnotes files, then select Export All. This is for Class Folder Lessons specifically. If you do not have Class Folder Lessons you want to keep, you can use a simple Manual Backup

My Teachers are being asked for a code?!?

If you previously used Goodnotes Classroom and are now using the Education Plan in Goodnotes, you may have found that your Teachers are being asked by the app for an access code. There is an easy way to resolve this.

  1. Launch the Goodnotes Admin Console
  2. Head to Identity and Provisioning in the Sidebar
  3. Click on the 3 dots under Action in your chosen Domain row.
  4. Toggle Auto-Capture off and input the Domain to confirm.
